Attorney Borbi — John D. Borbi in Marlton, NJ

John D. Borbi, Esquire

John D. Borbi was born in Roebling, New Jersey and graduated from Florence Township High School. During his high school years, Mr. Borbi worked alongside of his father and other family members at the historic Roebling Steel Mill manufacturing steel and wire mesh. Mr. Borbi then attended the University of Delaware where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1987. While attending the University of Delaware, Mr. Borbi played intercollegiate football for the Blue Hens under legendary coach Tubby Raymond. Following college, Mr. Borbi attended the University of Dayton School of Law and received a Juris Doctor Degree in 1990 with honors. Following law school, Mr. Borbi joined the firm of Parker, McCay and Criscuolo in Marlton, New Jersey, where he specialized in defending area hospitals, physicians, businesses and insurance companies. During this period of time, Mr. Borbi successfully tried over one hundred (100) Jury Trials and was the youngest attorney in the State of New Jersey to be granted the designation of Certified Civil Trial Attorney at the age of 31.

Mr. Borbi joined the firm of Freidman, Bafundo and Porter in 1996 as a Trial Attorney and shortly thereafter became a partner in the firm.

Mr. Borbi has achieved multiple multi-million dollar verdicts throughout the State of New Jersey in various types of cases including medical malpractice, automobile accidents, insurance claims and negligence matters.

Mr. Borbi was appointed to the Board of Governors of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America-New Jersey where he continues to serve. He has also been awarded a rating of "A.V." by Martindale-Hubbel, a designation reserved only for preeminent lawyers in the country.

Mr. Borbi has been recognized as one of the premier personal injury lawyers in the United States and locally by South Jersey Magazine, New Jersey Monthly Magazine, Philadelphia Magazine, New Jersey Super Lawyers, Philadelphia Super Lawyers, Courier Post and the Philadelphia Inquirer

Mr. Borbi is the President and managing partner of the firm and Chairperson of the Personal Injury Department, overseeing all the personal injury cases and trials for the firm. 

In 2015, Mr. Borbi was named one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers in America by the National Trial Lawyers Association, an honor reserved for very few attorneys in the United States of America. 

Mr. Borbi is also a member of the Burlington County Bar Association, the Camden County Bar Association, The 200 Club of Burlington County, Medford Lakes Country Club, The Club at Pelican Bay - Naples, Florida, Little Egg Harbor Yacht Club, Medford Youth Athletic Association, and South Jersey Lacrosse Club.

Attorney Clancy — James M. Clancy in Marlton, NJ

 James M. Clancy, Esquire

James M. Clancy is a partner and head of the Workers' Compensation Department. Mr. Clancy received his undergraduate degree from Lynchburg College in Southern Virginia in 1986 and received his Juris Doctor degree from the Delaware School of Law in 1989. Mr. Clancy joined the firm in 1990, concentrating on workers' compensation law, wrongful termination, social security, and public disability pensions and employee rights.


Mr. Clancy was one of the first attorneys awarded the designation of "Certified Workers' Compensation Law Attorney" by the Supreme Court of New Jersey in 1998 and was the youngest attorney certified in that field of law. Mr. Clancy is a member of The New Jersey Association for Justice and serves as co-chairman of the Workers' Compensation Committee. In that capacity he is responsible for providing continuing legal education to attorneys throughout the state. He is also active in the Burlington and Camden Bar Association Workers' Compensation Committees.

Mr. Clancy has tried many contested cases to conclusion in the Division of Workers' Compensation, The Office of Administrative Law and The Superior Court of New Jersey. His legal efforts have resulted in favorable interpretations of law by the Appellate Division regarding discrimination against the injuries to injured workers.

Mr. Clancy is th Chairperson of the Workers Compensation Department and oversees all workers compensation claims and trials for the firm.

Mr. Clancy lives in Marlton, New Jersey, with his family. He is a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, served on the Board of Directors of Catholic Charities Dioceses of Trenton and coaches youth sports for the Marlton Recreation Counsel, the South Jersey Lacrosse Club and Cherokee High School lacrosse.

Attorney Patrizi — Vanessa P. Patrizi in Marlton, NJ

Vanessa P. Patrizi, Esquire

Vanessa Patrizi, Esquire, is a partner with the firm concentrating in negligence litigation including automobile accidents as well as wrongful termination. Mrs. Patrizi graduated from the University of Delaware in 1992 and from the Widener University School of Law in 1995. Presently, Mrs. Patrizi is responsible for the preparation and handling of multiple claims for the office. She is a member of ATLA New Jersey as well as the Burlington and Camden Bar Associations.

Vanessa Patrizi, Esquire, is a partner and civil trial attorney. She joined the firm in 2006 as an associate with Bafundo, Porter, Borbi, & Clancy. She graduated from Widener University School of Law in 1995 where she obtained her Juris Doctor degree. She obtained her undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Delaware in 1992 with a dual major. Ms. Patrizi was born in Philadelphia and graduated from Haverford High School in 1988.

Ms. Patrizi is licensed to practice law in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Prior to joining the firm, she was a litigation attorney with private defense firms and insurance house counsel, where she defended and represented numerous insurance companies and claims.


Ms Patrizi conducts jury trials throughout the State of New Jersey and Philadelphia in all major personal injury matters. Recently Ms Patrizi obtained 3 separate excess jury verdicts in personal injury matters that required the insurance carrier to pay over their policy limits. Her trial success is very well known throughout the State of New Jersey. 


Ms. Patrizi resides in Marlton, New Jersey. She is married and is a mother of two children. She and her husband are active in the community and with the Marlton Recreation Council in coaching youth sports.

S. Caroline Granato, Esquire


Caroline Granato, Esquire, is a graduate of Ohio Northern University, Petit School of Law. She was a member of the Law Review and ranked third in her class. Ms. Granato grew up in Southern New Jersey and returned to practice there after completion of law school. She is admitted to practice in New Jersey State Court and the Federal District Court of New Jersey. She is an active member of New Jersey Association for Justice.


From 1987 – 2006 Ms. Granato practiced civil litigation in many New Jersey courts. During that time, her focus was on representing individuals injured as a result of automobile accidents, sexual assault, slip and fall accidents, dog bites, and dental/medical malpractice. The experience included all aspects of litigation, and she has tried many cases before juries to verdict. Ms. Granato also has experience arguing before the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division.


In 2006, Ms. Granato became an approved, full-time arbitrator in the New Jersey Automobile Insurance Arbitration program. Throughout her tenure, she rendered over 5,000 awards with cases involving issues of causation, medical necessity of treatment/testing, insurance coverage entitlement, income loss, and more.


Having now joined the firm, following her tenure as an arbitrator, Ms. Granato is again handling all aspects of civil litigation, helping injured individuals and their families.


Ms. Granato resides near Mullica Hill, New Jersey with her husband and two children.

John Patrick Borbi, Esquire


John Patrick Borbi is a senior trial attorney here at BCP focusing on all aspects of personal injury matters and claims. Mr. Borbi was raised in Medford, New Jersey graduating from Shawnee High School. While at Shawnee he excelled in both the classroom and on the athletic fields where he was team captain for both the lacrosse and football teams winning two State Championships.

 

Mr. Borbi obtained his undergraduate degree from Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona where he graduated with Honors studying Political Science and Theology. Following his undergraduate studies, Mr. Borbi obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Dayton School of Law in Dayton, Ohio. While at Dayton, Mr. Borbi was a member of the mock trial team and volunteered at the community legal center providing free legal services for those who could not afford representation.

Following law school Mr. Borbi became the Law Clerk to the Honorable John E. Harrington, Presiding Judge, Civil Division, Burlington County. During that time Mr. Borbi wrote many of the judicial opinions for the Court and managed a substantial docket of cases. Prior to working for Judge Harrington, Mr. Borbi also interned at the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office as well as several law firms in South Jersey. Mr. Borbi joined BCP in September of 2018; he appears and argues cases for falls, automobile, and other accident related cases throughout all counties in New Jersey. He also appears on behalf of clients in Workers Compensation Courts throughout the state. Mr. Borbi is a member of the New Jersey Association for Justice, Camden County Bar Association, Burlington County Bar Association and Little Egg Harbor Yacht Club in Beach Haven, New Jersey.

 

Mr. Borbi resides in Collingswood, New Jersey with his wife and their two rescue dogs.


Robert A. Porter, Esquire

Robert Porter, Esquire, is a graduate of Villanova Law School and is the litigation manager for the law firm. Mr. Porter was raised in Burlington, New Jersey, and obtained his Undergraduate degree from Temple University. Mr. Porter is admitted to the New Jersey Supreme Court as well as the Federal District Court of New Jersey and the United States Supreme Court.

As an active litigator Mr. Porter has been a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of New Jersey for approximately twenty years and has been on the Board of Governors for approximately seven years. He is the immediate past co-chair of the Appellate section of ATLA, New Jersey.

Mr. Porter recently obtained a fifteen million dollar verdict in Camden County as the result of negligent service of alcohol by a bar to a drunk driver. He has obtained five multi-million dollar verdicts.

Mr. Porter has been appointed by the New Jersey Supreme Court to their Ethics Committee for Camden and Gloucester County, has been past chair of the Burlington County Bar Association, Bench Bar Committee, and the Judicial Fitness and Selection Committee. He has taught Civil Trial Preparation to newly admitted attorneys and has been a lecturer for the Bar Association and the Trial Lawyers Association. He has a wide range of experience including having served six years as the Trial Chief of the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office.

Laurence P. Bafundo, Esquire

Laurence P. Bafundo, Esquire, was a founding partner and is a trial attorney with the firm. He concentrates his practice in the areas of significant personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice and job site injuries. In addition, Mr. Bafundo also represents plaintiffs in employment discrimination and sexual harassment claims. He has successfully tried to conclusion multiple cases including construction accidents, automobile collisions and medical malpractice claims. This has resulted in multiple million dollar verdicts and settlements. Mr. Bafundo graduated from Georgetown University in 1973 and then received his Juris Doctor degree from Rutgers University in Camden, New Jersey. Following law school Mr. Bafundo participated in a judicial clerkship with the Superior Court of New Jersey. Ever since completion of his Judicial Clerkship Mr. Bafundo has been involved in private practice of law representing the injured and consumers of New Jersey. He has tried cases in the United States District Court of New Jersey, New Jersey Superior Court and the New Jersey Division of Workers' Compensation. Throughout his career he has had the privilege of arguing appeals before the New Jersey Appellate Division and the New Jersey Supreme Court

Mr. Bafundo has also been given the rating of "A.V." from Martindale-Hubbel, the national rating service. This rating is given to less than 4% of the attorneys in the United States. Mr. Bafundo is an adjunct professor at the Rutgers University School of Law in Camden, New Jersey, and also serves on The Supreme Court of New Jersey Arbitration Advisory Committee.

In the community, Mr. Bafundo is an active member of the Georgetown and Rutgers Alumni Association and has been an interviewer for the Undergraduate program since 1999. Mr. Bafundo lives with his wife and two children in southern New Jersey.

Marianne M. Bryant, Esquire

Marianne Bryant, Esquire, is an Associate at the firm. She received her degree in Nursing from Rutgers University in 1982 and received her Master's in Nursing from Widener University in 1983. Ms. Bryant graduated from the Widener University School of Law in 1991. Currently, Ms. Bryant is responsible for the handling and preparation of multiple negligence and malpractice cases for the firm. She is licensed to practice law in both the State of New Jersey and Pennsylvania and is also a Licensed Registered Nurse. Ms. Bryant is a member of ATLA New Jersey as well as the Camden County Bar Association.
